I found that faith has continued to help me me be free from anxiety. I used to have crazy anxiety. I'm talking about when I didn't have rent money coming up, when I couldn't pay for something, when I didn't know how a the solution was going to come in the midst of my problem, anxiety and panics would just it would overwhelm me. And I found the cure for anxiety was my faith in Jesus Christ. have your way right here, my leaders. Ladies and gentlemen, you are now tuned into Ja Mic, home of the world's toughest leaders. It's a pleasure to have you.
If you're watching this video today, one thing that you're saying is that I am a leader. I'm here to pour into you. I'm here to talk to you. One thing I noticed the most is leaders like yourself, they need to be poured into. Okay, that's what this platform is about. My name is Mike Jaja on your chairam. I'm a certified life coach and I get the honor and privilege of coaching individuals oneonone and I get the honor of doing this platform with you all. So today I got a special message, okay? And today is about having faith in the midst of reality.
And your reality in this circumstance may be a legit storm. There may be legit real life circumstances that are causing you to shake right now. And when you look at them, you're you're feeling senses of fear, intimidation. Some of you are experiencing torment. Okay? This message is to address just that. Okay? So, I'd like for us to open up to Mark. We're going to open up to good old Mark. Okay? And in the book of Mark, we're going we're going to dive into Mark chapter 4 and we're going to go vers 37 on down to 41. We're going to read a few verses.
I'm going to break this thing down to pour into your life practically. Okay? So, let's pray. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Lord, we just want to say, Aba, we thank you. We glorify you. We magnify you right now. We magnify and we uplift the name of Jesus. And we, Father, we say thank you for what you're going to speak to us today. We thank you for this word. We thank you for this counsel. Holy Spirit, you are the counselor. So, I pray that you would use me as a vessel to pour into your leader.
And I pray that this leader is empowered today and that there's a peace and that there's transformation that takes place that there's a revelation that they don't leave this message the same way that they came into this message. And even if they're good now, they will feel even better at the end of this video. So do what only you can do through your word. We trust you. In Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. my leader. I'm going to read right now and the setup is that the disciples are rolling with Jesus and they're inside this ship.
Jesus had just finished speaking about the parable of the swer and the seed. And he spoke about if we don't understand this one parable, how will we understand any of the parables? Okay. And so here is what I want to break down and it's the storm. We all know about those who read the word about Jesus Christ calming the storm. Okay. But I want to read and I want to read and take time to really look at what's going on in this scenario. Okay. So let's read. I'm reading out the KJV version. And it reads like this. Verse 37. 37.
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. full. And he he being Jesus was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow. And they awake him, and say unto him, Master, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind seized, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are you so fearful? fearful? How is it that you have no faith?
And they feared exceedingly and said one to another, "What matter of man is this that even the wind and the sea oy him?" My as I'm reading this, first thing I want to point out is verse 37. And there arose a great storm of wind and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now. Picture yourself being in the sea, being in this large ship. And the reality is that you're in a storm. storm. And in this very real storm, the wind is so heavy. It's windy right now, but nowhere near as windy as what it would have been like in that storm.
And the wind is blowing your boat, your boat is moving. You're rocking back and forth. Not only is it beating your boat, it says the waves beat into the ship. So now the waves now are beating the ship. And not only are the waves beating the ship, the waves are actually getting into the boat. And so imagine now your feet is clearly soaked with water. So you're in a very real scenario that your flesh is responding in a very realistic way. If I'm the disciples in that moment, I'm going to have an immediate reaction. I'm going to have an immediate response.
I'm going to I'm going to feel a little bit of anxiety, a little bit of trembling is going to happen. I mean, be at sea is one thing, but being at sea in a storm, the reality of this situation was very frightening. Okay. Now, Now, verse 38 says, "And he Jesus was in the hinder part of the ship." So, that word hindered means stern. Stern means he was basically not at the front end of the boat, but the back end of the boat. Most likely a bunker of some sort that was used to be able to rest to be able to sleep.
So, he's in the hinder part of the boat. Now, where the action is taking place. Okay. And he's asleep on a pillow. So, he's comfortable. Yo. Yeah. Jesus is comfortable. Listen, one thing I love about sleeping on my bed is ain't even a bed itself. I love pillows. The more pillows, the better. My wife, she's the exact opposite. It's like the less pillows, the better for her. I love pillows. Jesus is sleeping with a pillow. He is comfortable. Our Lord and Savior is cozy. Now they awake him and say unto him, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?" Now this is one of my favorite parts in this scripture.
And the reason is because it's a real fear. fear. Here I am in a tumultuous situation where I feel like my life is on the line and I feel like I need protection. And here I am as a believer wondering if God sees my trouble. Lord, don't you see my trouble? Don't you see the setback? Don't you see what could potentially happen to me if you don't come in and intervene? intervene? Don't you see? And when I'm reading this scripture, there's another scripture that comes to mind in the word that talks about the love of God.
And the reason that he has longsuffering and the reason why God has patience is actually so that no man will be cast into hell. So that no man will suffer wishing that we will all come into repentance. So our Lord and Savior is not one that wants us to perish. When our Lord and Savior is allowing a certain circumstance to happen, there's a posture that he expects us to have and it does not have anything to do with the flesh leading. This may seem so counterintuitive because it's in our nature to want to fear and panic in the midst of real life situations. situations. But that's in our nature.
That's in the flesh. flesh. We're going to go into a place that's called walking in the spirit. Cuz the one thing about God is this. It says in the word that God cannot be tempted with evil. evil. Okay? God can't be tempted. One thing that you in our house is the Holy Spirit. Okay? Okay? And the Holy Spirit being the spirit of God, it cannot be tempted with evil. It maintains the same posture that Jesus Christ maintains and it's this calmness. So think about this for a second. Jesus is on the boat in the stern part of the boat.
And here it is that even though the disciples have Jesus with them, they are still panicking and wondering. Do you care? Have you ever asked God, if we're being honest, do you even care? Have you ever been that frustrated? Have you ever been that filled with fear? So this is a good question. Verse 39, it says that Jesus, he he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, "Peace, "Peace, be still, and the wind seized, and there was a great calm." And what I love about that verse is peace.
He called out peace and he said, "Be still." And I would implore that he's not even just talking about the wind. He's not even just talking about the sea, but he's talking to his disciples. And he's talking to you and I. And in the midst of this situation, he's saying, "Peace. be still. I need you to be still. I don't need you to be in a posture of panic. And how do we know he's saying that? Let's keep reading. It says this, verse 40. And he said unto them, why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? So wait a minute. Why are you so fearful?
And how two, how is it that you have no faith? faith? Dang. Dang. So an expectation of God allowing this storm to happen is a question of posture, a heart posture. Why is it even in the midst of this storm that you're so fearful? So one of the postures we all soul see is that God was not in expectation for them to be fearful. Why? Because we know in scripture it says God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, love, and of a sound mind. So power, let's talk about power first. This word power means authority.
So even in the midst of a scenario that you should, the flesh wants to be fearful, I've given you authority over this situation. situation. Okay. I've given you power. I've given you strength to overcome this scenario. Sound mind. Even in a scenario like the storm, I haven't given you a mind that wants you to enter a space of panic. I don't expect you to panic. Especially having my spirit knowing who you walk with, who you're with. In love. To understand love is to truly understand the love that the father has for you. I need you to know my love.
And I need you to know that I have the best intentions for you. That even when the father rebukes you, he chastises you and I as sons and daughters. daughters. There was a discipline taking place during the storm. There was a testing that was occurring during the storm. What was the posture of the heart? He said, "Why are you so fearful? Jesus is on the boat, y'all. Mind you." And then the next one, the hugest one for me really is, "Why do you have no faith?" There is a posture of faith that the Lord wants us to walk in in the midst of tumultuous trying situations that may seem once
again counterintuitive. It may seem like it's not natural. But here you we are you and I as believers we have the Holy Ghost. We've accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. God is with us. He is walking with us. He is guiding us. He is leading us. He says he'll never leave us nor forsake us. And yet during our trials and our tribulations, we tend to panic, cursing God, wondering if he's for us or with us. And what it shows is it shows our lack of faith. Our lack of faith for God being able to come through in the midst of this situation.
Y'all, if I'm on that boat, what I'm going to do is I'm going to get closer closer to Jesus. Um the individual I was coaching and I was ministering this word to him. He said something funny. He said he said what I would have did is I would have I would have went to the back of the boat and I would have got a pillow and I would have been I would have been sleeping right next to him. So if you going I'm going. We going together. And that's funny when you think about it. But how do we do that practically? It's the same thing.
Hey Lord, I know that in the midst of the storm, even though you haven't answered my prayer immediately or it doesn't feel like you have, I know that I'm to remain calm right now. In fact, in the spirit right now, I'm going to use my imagination. I'm going enter the spirit realm. In the spirit, I know that you're in the storm with me right now. And I truly have faith and I believe that I'm in the boat with you. You're in the boat with me. And right now, I'm next to you. And a way to actually practically do that is to just spend time in prayer.
Spend time getting into your word as well too. Spend time talking to God. Address your concerns. But the posture is to have faith in knowing that even in the midst of your storm, God is there with you. And my challenge for us today is not to have the Lord have to say words of why are you so fearful right now and how is it that you have no faith. One thing about this platform that I want to continue to pour into us and myself included is for us to continue to have more faith. I found that faith has continued to help me be free from anxiety.
I used to have crazy anxiety. I'm talking about when I didn't have rent money coming up, when I couldn't pay for something. When I didn't know how a the solution was going to come in the midst of my problem, anxiety and panics would just it would overwhelm me. And I found the cure for anxiety was my faith in Jesus Christ. Knowing that in the midst of what I'm panicking about, he didn't give me a panicky mind. He gave me, he didn't give me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. And Mark 4 reminds me that God is with me in the midst.
And all he has to do is say, "Peace, be still, and the storm is going to be gone." But that storm is not the one happening externally. The true storm is the one that's happening internally. So I say to you who's dealing with a storm right now, I say to you peace, be still and know that God is with you. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Father, I just pray right now that you give us a peace of mind in the midst of the trial. my leader who's watching this and they're going through a tumultuous situation that feels reminiscent to a storm.
Their reality feels like it's really falling falling. It feels like they're not going to make it out of this one. It feels like a door is not going to open up. It feels like protection is not going to be provided. It feels like provision is not going to come. Father, I pray for that leader right now to peace be still. That their peace will remain still. that they will be remembering that you are with them. You have a plan. They're going to be okay. And Father, I just pray against the spirit of fear right now.
And against lack of faith, Father, God, and I pray that that you loosen your power, that you give them an increase of faith, Lord Jesus, and that this video is just a confirmation that Jesus is with them. So, Father, we thank you for your testing. We thank you for being with us. We honor you and we acknowledge you and we give this storm to you right now. We love you and it's in Jesus mighty name that we pray. Amen. My leaders, I love you but Jesus Christ loves you more. If you give this storm to God and you allow him to say, "Peace, be still. still.
I'm a firm believer that your life will be changed." I love you, my ners. Check out the next two videos, one of these videos, videos, cuz I believe they're going to pour into you even deeper.
