Get comfortable [music] with getting in God's presence and just talking up and then after you're done talking, [music] just sit in his presence. Just take some deep [music] breaths. You know what I feel in a moment like that? I don't have no care right now. Alas, ladies and gentlemen, you are now tuned in to Ja's Mic, home of the [music] world's toughest leaders. It's a pleasure to have you. [music] If you tuned in right now, you have made a commitment and a declaration that [music] you are a leader. So, I'm talking to you in this video. Okay. My name is Mike Jaja ana. I'm a certified [music] life coach.
I get the privilege of coaching one on one with some of phenomenal people. And today I asked the Lord as I was here, [music] what would you have me speak about? And I was initially going to speak on a [music] specific topic in the Bible. And I'm going to save that for another video because this one specifically the Lord impressed on my spirit to talk about quiet time. with the Lord. [music] My leaders, something that has changed my life and that [music] continues to change my life is spending quiet time with the Lord. I need my alone time.
I need [music] to go off into the wilderness, go off into a room, go off into a empty car, go off into a parking lot, go off into a park. And I just need to spend time. time. It's away from the phone. It's away from communicating with people. I love people. But I love Jesus Christ that much more. And And during this time just spending time with the Lord, praying to God, talking to God about the things that are really on my heart. Yesterday I was in this exact location that I am today, not too far from here.
And it was been a long time since I went to a place that was disqu. And as I was here, I just began to speak to the Lord about all the things that's on my heart. I began to pour out to him. And I got emotional. And it's been a while since I shed tears like that. So, you know what I did? I said, you know, I want to come back here again.
And just before even getting out of here, I was in my car spending some alone time with the Lord and I began to listen to worship music and I'mma begin to just shed some tears cuz I could feel his presence. I could feel his love and I found myself regularly waking up early in the morning. Even though some days it's a struggle, 3:30 in the morning, some days it's 4:30 because I hit that snooze button, right? Some days it's 5:30, but just getting up early, not out of obligation, but out of a desire to seek my Lord and spend time with him.
Because I find that during those moments of quietness, of solitude, I'm able to not be distracted, but I'm able to hear the voice of the Lord. I'm able to hear what he's impressing in my spirit. And most of the times in the morning, sometimes I'll drift to sleep and in my dreams, the moment I drift, he'll give me a message. message. And I believe my leaders, one thing that God wants me to address in this video today is the reason why it's hard for many of us believers to hear from the Lord is because we're not spending enough quiet time.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Lord, Father, I thank you for this time. I thank you for this word. Lord, I thank you for this leader who has tuned into this message today. And Father, I pray that you bless them with this insight today that after this video that they would desire to spend more time with you, spend more time in your presence. You are waiting for them. You want to speak to them. And I just pray that this is going to be the year where they hear your voice more than they've ever heard your voice. in Jesus name. Amen.
One thing that I recognized inside my culture is something that struck my cord the other day. day. And And as I'm sitting there and I'm coaching, I realized that man, so many of our lives are extremely busy. We're doing so many things rightfully so. We're trying to provide for our family. You're trying to provide for your kids. You're trying to please your boss, right? You got obligations. You got to spend time with your children. You got to spend time with your spouse. You got to spend time with your friends. You've probably volunteered into a community. You probably are volunteering for the church. You have responsibilities. You have duties.
you have obligations and then on top of that you're trying to work out some of you, [laughter] okay? okay? You're trying to find activities that you like to do. So, we're trying to do all of these things to make sure that we've done enough within the amount of time that we have. have. And often times we leave. If you're like myself, I feel like a lot of time I don't have enough time in the day to finish or do everything that I want to do. So we're trying to structure this day and we're trying to make it quote unquote perfect.
But far too often we get into a place where there's a lot of anxiety brewing up. There's a lot of stress. There's anxiety about the future. There's depression because we can't find enjoyment in the now. It's hard for us to be present. We think we're missing out on the next thing. There's things that we want that we currently don't have that the next person we look at, they have. So, all of these things and all of these motions are taking place in any given day. day. Yet I find myself in my life right now realizing that the most important thing that I need is peace. I need peace.
I need peace before I need all the things that I want to I want to get. I need peace so I can really begin to rest the way I need to rest. I need peace to begin to really be able to show up to the people I'm called to serve, to the family I'm called to lead, to the organization I'm called to be a part of, to the leadership that I'm called to lead. I need peace because I find that in this peace, there's a firm foundation. There's a song that says, "Christ is my firm foundation. He's my rock.
When I spend quiet time with the Lord, I'm able to be rejuvenated. I think about the scripture in the Bible. We see that Jesus Christ often withdrew. withdrew. He left his disciples and he would just go and he would go to spend time with the father. And it may not be a detail highlighted in red, but it is a detail in the behavior of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He withdrew. There was times that he had to get away from the community and just be in the presence. And I could just imagine what being in the presence was like for Jesus.
I could just imagine that it was filled with the love of God. It was filled with conversations from the Lord. It was filled with laughter. It was filled with humor. It was filled with grace and compassion. It was filled with the Father's love. It was filled with a warm embrace. It was filled with everything that I often feel when I spend that long time with God. I realized that spending this quiet time with the Lord, it's a posture of my heart because this is about going to a secret place, believing that the one that I can't see is hearing me, is listening to me, is talking God.
There's a scripture in Hebrews 11 6 that says, "It is impossible to please God without faith. For those that come to him must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him." So those that come to him must believe that he is. I I can't go to my quiet place and spend that time with Aba if I don't believe that Aba exists. If I don't believe that Aba is going to be there when I come. If I don't believe that when I'm talking to him, he's actually hear me.
There's a psalm that says that when we pray to him, our prayers enter his chambers [snorts] and he hears our prayers. When I go into my quiet time in the morning, I believe that I'm being met by the Lord. When I'm in my quiet place in my car, I believe that I'm being met by the Lord. When I'm out in public and I maybe I'm praying under my breath, I close my eyes for yet but a second. I believe that Aba is hearing my prayers. There's a scripture in John John 11 rather and this is very interesting because it just came to my spirit now and I'mma read it.
I'mma read it. Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus. They took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, "Father, I thank thee that thou has heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always, but because of the people which stand by, I said it that they may believe that thou has sent me." This is during the time where Jesus Christ is going to raise Lazarus from the dead. Okay. And just I just want to emphasize the the thought process here. He thanked the father first and foremost for hearing him. And he knew that thou hearest me always.
So the posture of going to God in the quiet place is to first thank him for even hearing you. Like start to thank God as you're praying. Thank God for being here. When we thank God and we're grateful for his presence, I find that I begin to feel God's presence even more. Okay? And the posture of Jesus is that he knows that God always hears. So, we're talking about praying without ceasing throughout the day, but we're talking about our quiet time. Going to that place knowing that God hears your prayers. He's listening to you.
He's listening to you more intentively, more patiently, more accurately than somebody who in the flesh is in front of you acting like they're listening to you. [laughter] He listens to you like nobody could possibly listen to you. And I just want to challenge my leaders today. leadership challenge is this year. Let us allow this year to be the time where you find moments to spend with the Lord. One of my clients, he mentioned how I've been he's been spending more time. He's cut off his work at a certain period of time so he can spend that time with the Lord.
He's waking up early and instead of going straight to the work, he's not going straight to the work anymore. He's waking up and seeking you the kingdom of God first. He said that has changed his posture. It's changed how he shows up in the day. It's changed how he answers the phone calls. It changed how the level of patience that he has towards people. It just has changed and has made the difference. difference. My leaders, that's what spending time with the Lord does. It makes a difference in how we show up. Especially as leaders, if you're on this platform watching, you're a leader talking to you.
You more than anybody need that special time. If the one that we call Lord and Savior when he was in the flesh, Jesus Christ, had to withdraw to spend that time, then us as leaders have to do the same thing. Even if we don't realize what that's what that's going to do for us, it's worth the try. And I've seen in my own life, the people I get to serve that when they have taken this posture, it's changed their life profoundly. I'm not telling you how much time to spend in this time, but I do say just show up for it.
And you're going to find what I found is a lot of time I don't want to leave. A lot of times I don't want to leave the presence of God to get back into this world, man. to get back into this life of of of struggle and troubles. You know, I find that I want to stay there. And I and I guarantee this may be your same experience and it will be. It may be weird at first, okay? But just get comfortable with getting in God's presence and just talking to Aba. And then after you're done talking, just sit in his presence. Just Take some deep breaths.
You know what I feel in a moment like that? I don't have no care right now. There's no cares of the world right now. My problems don't matter right now. Burning out other fires don't I don't need I don't I'm not worried about none of that right now. It's just Thank you my ladies. If you do that, I'm a firm believer. believer. You are going to begin to hear the voice of God more. He's going to begin to impress things in you. you. And for a lot of us, he's already been doing that, but we haven't been quiet enough. We haven't been slow enough to to hear that voice.
In this quiet time with God, it allows you the opportunity to hear it. It allows you to shut everything else and get to that place. That's your time. That's your time. Nobody could interrupt that time. So my leaders today, my challenge is spend more quiet time with the Lord. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of your precious son, Jesus Christ. Lord, I just thank you for the quiet time. I thank you for [music] meeting us. You said that when we diligently seek you, there's a reward. And I know you love when we have enough faith to just come [music] to you alone with no expectations of the outside world.
We're not doing this for nobody else. We're not doing this to to seem holier than thou, but we're doing this because we want to meet you in a quiet [music] place. We believe that you exist. We believe that you hear our prayers. We believe that you want to hear us, our [music] voice. We believe you want to conversate with us. So, Father, I just pray over my leader right now [music] that they'll begin to take time and spend with you. Go to the quiet place. Be eager to go to the quiet place and spend that time with you. And I pray that you [music] meet them there, Lord.
You you meet them there with a smile. You meet them there [music] with joy. You meet them there with a big heavenly sovereign hug. [laughter] Hallelujah. And when they get out of these moments, let there be a joy, a smile on their face, Lord God. But Father, I just want to say thank you for allowing us to have a space that [music] we can go to to be in your presence, Lord, uninterrupted. Father, I [music] thank you for this time. I thank you for this word. And I ask that you will bless this leader's life today in Jesus name. Amen.
My leaders, you spend that time to go into [music] that quiet place. I'm a firm believer that your life will be changed. I love you, but Jesus [music] Christ loves you more.
