Joys Wedding Vlog | A Celebration Overflowing With Joy

There was a moment, one phone call, when I realized my sister Joy was stepping into [music] a completely new chapter of her life. I heard something different in her voice that day. A surrender, [music] a peace, a confidence. It was the moment she fully gave her life to [music] Jesus Christ. And when her fate awakened, you could feel it. Her words changed, [music] her actions changed. There was a new grace on her life, and I knew nothing would stand in the way of what God [music] had for her. Joy has always been resilient, tough. When she sets her mind on something, she finishes it.

She doesn't [music] make excuses, she pushes through. And honestly, she's impacted me more than she knows. She's the reason [music] I fell in love with photography and videos in the first place. She inspired me long before this way never happened. And watching [music] her this weekend with her friends, with our family, even in her tears, I saw joy. Real joy. The joy that makes people feel accepted. The joy whose friends testify about her love and her character. The joy who works hard, stays organized, [music] [music] stays loyal, and keeps her heart pure before God. To my sister, you have everything you need to be a phenomenal wife.

Keep [music] being who God made you. Pray through every trial and trust that [music] God will guide every step of your journey. This is your story, Joy. We went to [music] a place called Market on Eight and it's a venue that has a myriad of restaurants to eat from. I chose to go to Dan Buri rice bowl. [music] [music] I had a yakinuku beef bowl. Absolutely amazing. My wife had some eggs and potatoes. What we got on this plate? >> We got some uh carne asada with some uh carnas. >> [laughter] >> Joy left to finish some more wedding prep [music] for her big day.

So, we toured around National City, which is known for its strong Navy presence, and the massive mockball fleet, officially called the Ready Reserve Ships or Ready Reserve Fleet. Giant military cargo ships docked [music] along the waterfront. It's a historic port city with deep military roots and actually one of the oldest communities [music] in San Diego. Those massive military cargo ships lined up along the waterfront were amazing to view at. I couldn't believe the size of these ships. And you have an opportunity for $40 to tour the entire ship as well, too. [laughter] We went touring downtown San Diego right by the convention center. They were having a AI conference.

We bumped into a place called The Best Donuts since 1989. Knowing me, a doughnut lover, I absolutely had to try one of these donuts. donuts. Bought one, split one with my brother. The lady was hyping it up so much. I knew these donuts could not disappoint. >> I got robbed. >> Well, aren't you >> these donuts disappointed? >> Aren't you glad you didn't get the Dubai? Dubai? >> Little Italy started in the late 1800s as a fishing community. And spots like Philippies [music] around since 1950 are part of what keeps its Italian roots alive. alive. Known [music] for its old school Italian atmosphere, generous portions, and legendary pizza.

We ended the night with some amazing food. But now it was time to knock out and wake up and hang with my sister and her friends in La Hoya. >> So basic [laughter] drive out. I can't >> Oh, sorry. Yeah. So hold put your leg on the gas. >> Okay. Put on the gas >> and then go down. All right. And then um the what do you call that thing? [laughter] [laughter] >> Oh, this right here. >> Yeah. La Hoya is known for its stunning coastal cliffs, crystal clearar beaches, sea lions, worldclass ocean views, upscale shops and dining, [music] and being home to the University of San Diego. It was beautiful to get the opportunity to just chill and hang out with my sister Joy, stressfree, stressfree, just like the old times. She was filled with so much life, so much enthusiasm, and you can just tell she was so grateful for the presence of my wife and >> more >> her little brother, Brian. >> Oh, boy. >> I don't know if I want that shock right now. [laughter] >> At the beach right now. the wife. Hold on.

[laughter] [laughter] We end up finding this tunnel. Okay. And one thing that we used to do when we were younger is I call us backyard kids.

We found a way to make any moment enjoyable by just simply using our imagination imagination >> and we would film it. >> My name is on. >> So that's what we decided to do. >> You got to follow me. I haven't seen her in a long time, so it's so nice to see her. >> She's a great person, and I'm glad that she found someone that she loves. >> Come on. Um, through Rose cuz Rose was um roommates with her uh back in San Francisco [music] Day and I was just an honorary roommate cuz I was Rose's friend, but I was there every day so I pretty much lived there. Um, yeah, that's how I know Joy since she moved to [music] San Francisco. How do you feel about her getting married? >> Super super happy for her and super just like amazed that she found somebody who like is deserving of her and vice versa. So I'm really really happy that she found somebody, you know, to share her life with. >> Yeah, I think she deserves it.

And to my beloved sister, congratulations on your matrimony. all these years of being your sister, [music] I'm so proud of the woman you have become. Congratulations to you and Steve. I'm so excited to see you guys start this amazing new adventure together to start this next chapter of your lives. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments and can't wait to meet my [laughter] future nephew and nieces. Love you. It was just a beautiful encounter. encounter.

We later went to the sushi lounge, met up with Pastor Rick and a few others [music] that would attend the wedding. It was amazing sushi. Some [music] of the best that I've had. And once again, just being able to chill with my sister Joy is amazing. mother and [music] father came from Texas at 900 p.m. And so when they got there, it was real. We went over to the apartment complex and [music] [music] things started to get moving. Joy had to begin to get things [music] ready to pack up for the next day, the big day.

And you could just see that [music] this moment was a lot of stress, a lot of tension, a lot of pressure. >> The photograph like that. Every day, you know, I'd come inside the room, jump on the bed, she'd be doing something productive. You know, the most [laughter] organized person I've ever seen in my entire life, and she's still an organizer now, you know. Um, and I just want to say, you know, from the bottom of my heart that I just love you, you know, and I saw you get married. I told my brother before it even been happening.

I said, "Dang, I know [clears throat] I'm going to start breaking down over there, [laughter] but I already introduced myself to everybody, so I kind of just felt open, you know, to just break down." And um it was just so powerful, you know, just seeing my seeing my sister right there in that moment. I just something that I I'll forever cherish in my life. And um just thankful for you, [laughter] >> Steve. >> You know, you just been continuing to pour into me.

um helped me with life change and you know that's kind of my you know my motto for this time in my life is just life change you know and um my brother called me [snorts] he he told me he said look man I know you you just always a worker and this n of that um but you know come out come out to your sister's wedding and um I had that change of heart right there put in some PTO for the first time [laughter] and picked me up you know my sister-in-law that came out and picked me up and you know we made it here and um um >> it's

just been a powerful experience this entire time and um I'm thankful for meeting all of y'all. I'm thankful for what you've done allowing us in here and um I'm continue to cherish what y'all got going on and I'm going use that as an influence to how I move going forward. See, when I was pregnant with my daughter, Sh and I went through a whole lot. But it's going to be another day story. It's a long story. We went through a whole lot. So, there was no way I was going to I wasn't going to be able I would have missed this occasion. No, there was no way I was going to miss it. We went to church one day.

That was when she was growing up, a prophet, pulled her out and [laughter] said, "This child is going to get married to a white man to her." I said, "Oh, that's okay." So [laughter] [laughter] yeah, I wasn't I wasn't against it, you know, because I'm somebody who's like live and let leave, you know. So I said, so when she came up and told me, oh, she has a boyfriend California. I said, okay, what is it? You got to bring it to bring him to Christmas. So yeah.

So when she brought him, I said, "Yeah, wherever you find the love, I don't care whether it's black, white, red, or blue, I am in support, you see." So I just thank God for giving for giving you my daughter and I thank you God for giving her you. >> As long as we both shall live. >> Uh, one thing I just want to share is there was a season where I didn't know anybody was going to be able to handle my sister. [laughter] I'm like, she's she she [clears throat] got the control. She needs control. And I said, who can handle this level of tenacity, [laughter] power, you know what I mean? It's always wonder I said okay who is going to handle it has to be somebody special has to be somebody who also holds a level of authority confidence in themselves right and so when she brought this individual over Christmas day okay she was bringing somebody over

from California who was she bringing over [laughter] she brought over white boy Steve [laughter] [laughter] smiling smiling They just fil with the spirit though. It was beautiful. It was powerful. And I knew that there was something different about you, right? One, she's never done that before. And just to see where you all have gone, you know, through the conversations, you know, I'm I live in Austin, Texas, and so we have to conversate over the phone. Just every month, it seemed like every month she was getting closer to Jesus Christ. Just closer and closer and closer.

I'm planting my seeds, but of course, God sent other people to water and ultimately he's the one that brings the increase. >> I see how you just kept getting closer and closer and closer to Jesus. Okay? And then I realized, wow, this union that y'all have, this is from God. I just want to say, Jo, I'm just proud of you becoming a phenomenal grown adult woman that's rooted in Christ. And I just I'm proud of you, Steve, for just doing what you're doing. I I'm gladly I gladly let my sister go at this [laughter] one. I love y'all.

And this is just it's an honor to see what God can do for y'all. So, >> how y'all doing? [laughter] >> Y'all look beautiful. >> I'm glad that you guys are here. I said who this man that can make my daughter this happened >> and I was still right here. I said when I me and Steve sat down and he told me the story of his life and and to see the uh improvement he has made in his life to see the growth he has achieved it's very inspirational okay and I thought my daughter and my daughter continued to grow in the Lord becoming stronger and stronger or just impressed I was I was blown out And when Steve asked how you marry, I said yes. [laughter] >> Go for it. Go for it. You know, okay.

And I was praying to God that nothing will go wrong. >> Yeah. >> And God listened. >> Amen. >> Okay. And brought them together closer and closer. Um this marriage will be a success. success. >> Amen. >> Amen. Okay. You guys going to be in our prayers every day, okay? You guys going to have our support every day.
