Should Christians Feel Guilty Asking for Help? (2 Thessalonians 3)

we com in every single day especially for this month of December um today I got a special message today and I ask that the Lord would lead me so let's pray heavenly father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Lord God I thank you for this leader and I ask for a blessing over over this Leader's life that they're not just spending time watching this video for no reason that when they watch to this entirety that they get a revelation and this Revelation that they get they get to run with and produce some fruit that you want them to produce so father use me right now holy ghost speak through

me and allow me to explain the words that are going to be coming out of the scriptures today Father I only ask for a blessing for this leader allow me to reveal a personal story God that may help this leader so father we thank you increase right now in Jesus mighty name we pray amen my leaders I'm excited because today I need to speak about something very specific and it's about not asking for help is a form of Pride and I would title this message if I had a title would be the end of ability to ask for help is an indication of a prideful Spirit my L I've been

speaking about this in some previous videos about what the Lord has been doing for the past 10 years for me to finally accept my calling to become a pastor and in doing so he's taking so much things out of me that I used to deal with addiction to pornography addicted to marijuana using it to cope with life in the wrong way not medically addicted to drinking alcohol not taking a little cup of wine and and then being good but going for the strong Lor and drowning myself in it just so I could keep keep up with my peers being addicted to pornography sexual sexual morality being a fornicated having sex

before getting married yall probably looking at my ring cuz it's on the wrong hand I got to get it resized I only put it here to stop it from falling cuz I be moving so much but I was a fornicator these are the things that I was doing that was hindering my walk with God and throughout this decade he continued to help me I was violent whenever I got angry and somebody tried to correct me about something I would get furious I was boastful I had so much pride cuz I had so much money in the bank account cuz I'm working multiple jobs I got more money than some of

my managers cuz I got two two jobs you know I was lost full-time student at pre at Texas University to become a pharmacist I was doing things just to satisfy the people that I love but not trying to satisfy God because I didn't really know God I wasn't walking with him so this word has helped me tremendously in these past 10 years God has really been humbling myself and one thing that he's done for me specifically is been the inability to ask for help now what we're going to read is out of 2 Thessalonians uh chapter 3 and Paul is speaking here and Paul is is sending a message to

the Thessalonians and he's just giving them a word about prayer about God's faithfulness and about responsibilities of working right because the word has spread to thessalonica about the return of Jesus Christ and according to the exog Jesus of this chapter they thought the the return of Jesus Christ was so imminent that it was it was about to come to tomorrow that a lot of them stop working they stop having having responsibilities and so Paul came to gently rebuke that Spirit of idleness okay now why what does it have to do with the inability to ask for help in idleness because I I truly believe that there is this line in

The Believer Community where we don't want to ask for help from people because we think that we're being a burden on some individuals and we think that we're being a beggar we think that this person going to think that we're slot for we believe that so we don't ask for help at all and we suffer in silence then there's a whole another spectrum of believers who they don't ask for help they do ask for help and they're asking for help all the time every month every day because they don't actually have any type of job right they won't actually work they're not willing to work they were not willing to

do anything a matter of fact that is a spirit of idleness that is a slot full spirit that is a beggar and I guarantee you right now that you probably most likely don't fall into that other category it's very very difficult to fall into that category and I need to share this with you because throughout this 10 years God has been having me work but he's also had me be humble enough to where I have to ask so that I can experience a level of humility in my life and I want to explain let's read now and if you open up to 2 Thessalonians verse three we're just going to

begin reading and I pray that faith comes by the hearing of the word finally Brethren pray for us that the word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified even it is with you now I'm reading out of the KJV and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men for all men have not Faith but the Lord is faithful who shall establish you and keep you from from evil and we have confidence in the Lord touching you that you both do and will do the things which we command so he's about to start giving them some advice about this idleness okay and the Lord direct your

heart into the love of God and into the patient waiting for Christ it says now we command you now let's listen closely to this brethren in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walth disorderly and not after the Traditions which he received of us for yourselves know how you ought to follow us for we behave not ourself disorderly among you so once again there's this concept of not hanging out with folks that are just giv to wickedness disorderly they're not walking according to the commands of God he says that he wishes that you withdraw from every brother that is walking against God

because one he doesn't want you to be influenced by their behavior it says a neither did we eat any man's bread for not but rock with labor and travail night and day that we might not be chargeable to you so these men of God Paul they worked day and they worked night so that they could have supply for themselves to eat so that they would not become a beggar not because we have no power but to make ourselves an ample unto you the follow us so to make themselves an example they didn't want to show the example of always being in constant need because if they walked in that way

of always being a constant need all the time never having anything it wouldn't show show a father that's a giving father now you may be thinking dang man I'm always in Need You may be like dang J he said I wasn't G to fall into that category but I'm always in need but keep reading I'mma keep reading I'mma keep reading CU I read that to him like dang I've been in Need for this past decade Lord what's going on but let's keep reading so we can understand this more vividly I thank you for your patience if you made it this far you're a real one if you made it this

far hit that like button cuz you're a real one I like you now in verse n it says not because we have no power but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow us for even when we were with you this we commanded you that if any man right that if any would not work neither should he eat that's powerful that if you don't work neither should he eat for we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly working not at all but are busy bodies so wait a minute a minute there are some folks that are working not at all they ain't working at all do

you fall into the category of an individual that's just not working at all okay and recently there was a debate on whether this means D should a Believer have a full-time that fall into a full-time category of work do that fall into a part-time category of work do that fall into a business my leader I I would like you to understand you're on this side of the category still if Within These past years even in your struggle even if you've been working part-time and you've been trying you've been doing it maybe you don't got a degree maybe you don't have a higher education to get you know what I mean

maybe you haven't had the favor yet or God has not put you at a place where you're at a higher position but you've been you've been diligently working you've been seeking and maybe you've just been making ends meet okay you've been working you've been travelling you've been putting food on the table maybe it's been Check to Check okay there's a lot of people a lot of Believers that live check to check it ain't the best thing and it's not where we want to stay at but you've been providing you've been doing the best that you can you are still on this spectrum of not being a slot not being Idol

not being a beggar you're at least trying it's just more information and knowledge that you need in order to excel more maybe in that part-time maybe become full-time right maybe in that business business there's more that you need and throughout this decade my leaders like when I after leaving college or I left the University Texas University because at the age of 25 I said man I just want to be my own boss that's always been my aspiration To Be My Own Boss own my own business have my own schedule and be able to employ people in a in my business people that I can build up motivate and eventually they'll

go off and do their own thing but I want to to be that leader to start his own business that's been my drive now before I was saved the business wasn't the right business but I've always been driven to read books about this and go out and Implement before I started speaking most of y'all know me for doing uh videography photography work that's what it was a straight photographer right I got so good at it that I thought that this was going to be my official path but the Lord was showed me no but I always was diligently seeking learning trying to get business having meetings that at Starbucks and

what God started to show me as I begin to get good at this that those Starbucks meetings with me trying to get my clients and do phenomenal awesome work for them they became like coaching they became coaching sessions they became counseling sessions they became like a pastoral counseling type of thing and it made me wonder like dang I feel more excited doing this than I do even a shoot so that's a whole another story let me get back to it if you've been looking diligently L and you've been actively pursuing work and trying to do something to provide for your family you have not fallen into the category of not

working at all this is very this is very specific not working at all let's keep reading and then busy being a busy body you just doing everything you're doing everything you're busy but nothing is working that's being a busy body now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that re quiet they work and eat their own bread so if you are somebody who is falling on to this category and you just not working at all right this is a fake platform so I do believe to have faith for the Lord's provision what Paul is speaking about Paul of all people he got faith in

the Lord Jesus Christ but he's still talking about daily duties and daily responsibilities okay and he's saying if you fallen into this category with Grace with Grace he saying listen he saying he's saying go out pursue a job get you some work all right if got the Lord has told you to do business go do the business if the Lord has told you to get a part-time job get that part-time job if the Lord has called you into a full-time job get that full-time job but do get you some money by working with your your hands that you may provide for yourself bread to eat and and food for your

family verse 13 but ye Brethren be not weary and wello and if any man obey not our word by this epistle which is the the meaning letter note that man and have no company with him that ye may be ashamed so this brother over here that won't work at all he won't do nothing in his Idol and is lazy and is slothful and is a beggar he should be ashamed and I want to ask you do you believe that you fall into this category Idol slothful beggar not working at all but claim that you believe in Jesus Christ mind you this person is not working at all I'm not talking

about the person that struggles I'm not talking about the person that's living Check to Check you're at least trying there's some very humble God-fearing people that I know right now they got a heart of gold they got a they got a heart like a dove and they're just not able to really just make it and I pray blessings that God blesses them and this has been myself as well too I've been in this category God has shown me I'm breaking through this because I got the information now I got the knowledge I got the mentors I got the wisdom that I pray for now I know exactly what to do

to get to this next space but he shown me I've always been here and recently somebody tried to accuse me of being here without knowing my life without knowing what I've been doing in Ministry without knowing my background and I had to ask the Lord Lord did I fall into this category and he had to show me Michael no because you've never been the type to work at all matter of fact you fall into this category of what this message is about you've had have just had the inability to ask for help you see if you're not over here we thank God that you're not over here but let's say

you're over here and I know many people over here and as they're on this side there's times where they fall into a place where they just need to ask and the word speaks about you receive not because you ask not and there's many times but first and foremost yes we go to God and we go to God and that's we go to God we look in the word and we look at acts and in the book of Acts we see how the first church was the Believers shared resources amongst one another that's what they did nobody was lacking anything right so to the person that's working to the ladies that

were working as well too they shared their resources for the Believers in need this is what the body of Christ is supposed to do but if I'm doing absolutely nothing I don't have no resources to share and I realize throughout the years although I've barely had enough for myself I've always had enough to give I've always had enough to feed the Homeless I've always had enough to give to the person I was supposed to give to even if it's not as much as I wanted to I've always had enough to share to my brothers in Christ I've always had enough to share to my non-believers even if it's it's always

had enough I've always had resources and sometimes those resources are not just fin Financial their Ministry resources giving a word giving prayer like being out doing the father's father's business and because of this work God sees you my Believers he sees you and because he sees you he's going to set people up in space to bless you because he blessed his righteous he hears your cries he knows that you're in need of some help but there's times because he wants to he's involved in your heart posture in your your character there's times when he's going to cause you to ask and all that is is a removing of the pride

okay there's provision by you using your mouth to speak up and say I need some help I need some support it's not you begging but if you saying hey I would like some support and if they say no they say no but we as the body of Christ are called to help our family we're called to help our loved ones we're called called to help our community and I'm not just talking blood here I'm talking I'm talking Believers in Christ who are my brother who is my mother those who do the will of God your family of Christ your body of Christ will called to help one another and like

Paul he's just rebuking the idleness over here he's saying don't be idle though don't be doing nothing at all you don't want to fall into that category cuz you should be ashamed by this point in the video I pray that you know which category you fall on and I pray that you don't feel ashamed if you have need of asking for some some resources the church they have resources for these things the word says that the poor will always be among you there's always going to be somebody less fortunate than you let's help these individuals out and for my leader who has the inability to ask for help if you

don't fall into this category fall into this category the real help that you need that the word is speaking about with meekness is to go out and get the support that you need through job application part-time full-time full-time right business idea he may have a business if you've been getting I know somebody's been he said he had two over 200 plus applications is just not going through maybe God is calling him into having a business right maybe God is calling him to do a business for the kingdom Ministry work that's going to pay him like maybe that's what God has for this person but if you fall into this area

here there are options for you to start doing today okay but if you're over here and you're already doing just ask God for wisdom how he can increase the knowledge so that you can go to the next space but if you're here and you've been praying and you're having an ask and you have the inability to ask don't feel ashamed because you're working you're trying God sees you and he sent somebody in your path in your phone contacts right now that you can call up and you can text and literally when you ask what's going to end up happening my leader is you give this person the opportunity to give

with not with Grudge but give cheerfully and the word says that God loves a cheerful giver when they give to you they also get blessed this is a Biblical principle by him allowing you to ask somebody for the help that you may need and them giving it to you they get a blessing that's so powerful so my Leaders with the inability to ask for help I pray that this freeze you today because within this decade it's freed me there's been times where I've had the ability to give there's been times where I'm working part-time jobs I'm doing deliveries I'm working at Uber you know what I mean I'm doing door

Dash I'm doing favors while doing the ministry I'm having food to eat never never missing meals but still having to ask as he develops me into the individual that he's called me to to be who right now is a certified life coach on a way to being a pastor what is that for you my leaders I pray that this encourages encourages you I pray that this spoke to you I pray that you're at peace I pray that there's maybe maybe a call on your life that this answers right now of what you may need to do in order to take your next steps what what side do you fall in

so leadership challenge I challenge you on a sheet of paper right now blank sheet of paper write leadership challenge on the top of it and ask yourself the question what category do I fall in am I working working trying and still not having enough and am just in need of asking for help or do I fall into the category of idleness I'm just not working at all and I'm begging all the time cuz I'm just not even looking do you fall into that ask yourself that question write that down and just pray pray on a sheet of paper and ask the Lord what you need now the first person we're

going to ask is God for wisdom and we're going to ask the Lord what we actually need okay let's pray heavenly father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Lord we come to you today and we just want to say thank you for this time thank you for this hour thank you for this moment Lord I'm praying for my leader right now who they're asking the question you know what category do I fall in am I in a space of idleness God shall I be a name and I know that there's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus but do I fall into this category Lord help me

get out of this Idol this help me if I'm begging all the time I'm in ah help me Lord help me Lord help me Lord have you put me in this space though where I don't need to work I don't need to do nothing Lord please provide the provision that I need and heavenly father I'm praying also for my individual that's been working they've been working they've been literally working and still this just not enough at the end of the month Lord if they're in need of asking for some help father I pray that they have the ability to ask for the help I pray that they don't allow Pride

to stop them from asking for their help I'm pray that they don't let the conviction of somebody else giving them the wrong Doctrine or condemning them that they don't ask for the help both of these categories so father we just thank you for your love your love doesn't condemn your love sees our situation and you want to provide and I'm just asking and I'm praying right now for the provision for this leader right now so Lord God I thank you for blessing me I thank you for all the times you've come through in my life I thank you for the time where you've humbled me and removed that prideful spirit

and had me ask certain people and in asking I developed a close relationship with this person father I thank you for your grace and I thank you for your mercy that abounds on us right now we just want to say Lord that we love you father we repent for our ignorance we repent for our sins anything that we done to grieve the Holy Ghost today Father we ask for your strength cover this leader today with the blood of Christ lead them on this journey correct their paths make their crooked ways straight including my own we just want to say that we love you we thank you and it's in Jesus

mighty name that we pray amen amen amen I love you my leader but Jesus Christ loves you more if you got anything from this video make sure you share this video with one person I'm not asking you to like it even though I do like you if you made it to the end of this video but share with one person that's all I'm asking see you in the next video we out
